Abstract: With a heavy heart, we bid farewell to György Darvas, one of the founders of Symmetry: Culture and Science, who passed away on the 18th of December in 2023. Gyuri, as he preferred to be called by friends, left behind an enduring legacy that transcends the boundaries of the journal. We pay a heartfelt tribute to his remarkable life and his significant impact on symmetry. Foremost, we have the commitment to dedicate an entire issue for his life with all memorials of the people who want to participate and the dedication of the Symmetry Festival 2024 to him.
This issue of Symmetry: Culture and Science is dedicated to Gyuri's memory, featuring numerous works submitted to the journal on symmetry in mathematics education, history, art, and economics. These articles demonstrate symmetry's universal and interconnected nature, transcending disciplinary boundaries, much like Gyuri's approach to science.
