APPLYING THE CONCEPT OF SYMMETRY IN SPATIAL CATEGORIES IN MUSIC

Abstract: This report aims to discuss the main spatial dimensions attributed to the material of music in terms of their relationship to the phenomenon of symmetry. This discussion involves addressing four aspects. The first of them is the role of spatial symmetry in musical effects related to the location of sound sources in space. The second aspect is the problem of ambiguity of the depth parameter in music and the problem of detecting the phenomenon of symmetry in relation to this parameter. The third aspect concerns the problem of using symmetry effects in relation to the vertical dimension discussed in music. The fourth aspect is related to the question of the perception of symmetry in relation to the horizontal parameter discussed in music.
