Antal Kelle: Artificial Emotions

A series of events was held at the Budapest Vasarely Museum in May 2019 on the relationship and current issues of science and art in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The series of events was organized around an exhibition titled Artificial Emotions (AE) displaying works by Antal Kelle ArtFormer. https://youtu.be/KEdxZTUuxUk?t=1 (About the meaning of the name ArtFormer, I refer to the Introduction by D. Harris, and Section 5 of the Panel discussion 1, both published in this issue. In short, I am a kinetic sculptor and artformer http://artformer.com). The concept of the exhibition is delineated in a subsequent paper. The program included panel discussions, brain storming, guided tours, interviews, video-recorded all.

The contestation of AI and AE in the panel discussions referred several times to various aspects of symmetry. So did most of the interviewed experts. Thus, it seems pertinent to publish a selection of the recorded sometimes conflicting approaches and sentiments in the journal Symmetry: Culture and Science, for a much wider audience.
