COLOURING WITHOUT SEEING – ARTISTIC PERSPECTIVES IN COMPUTATIONAL CREATIVITY RESEARCHES

Abstract: In my paper I examine some of the contemporary artistic creativity researches while focusing on new definitions of virtuosity and creativity. My central argument is that though artistic creativity is a cultural mystery of mankind, this fact is not necessarily contrary to contemporary artificial artistic projects and meta-theories which do need the notions and results of human creativity researches. I give some examples of artificial artistic projects such as AARON and The Painting Fool. These demonstrate the complex nature of computing art researches, and show the way beyond technological directions of creative computing. Besides I refer to recent speculative theories which have relevant philosophical aims, namely to save computational perspectives from overthinking technological viewpoints. Thus these theories can save human perspectives in the researches of Artificial Intelligence and artificial creativity as well. Finally, I point out that this speculative orientation is based upon our mythological culture, which preserved the main directions of human curiosity for future investigations.
